Introduction: Galvanized & Black Mild Steel Pipes MS - Tubes & Pipes are made out of Hot rolled Coils. This is of two categories. A. MS - Black Tubes. B. Galvanized Pipes MS-Black Tubes: These Tubes are manufactured from Hot rolled coils and the process of welding is called Electric Resistant Welding (ERW). The size ranges from 15MM NB (1/2") to 350MM NB (14"). These Tubes are produced as per IS-1239,IS-1161 & IS-3601 specification. Manufacturing Process: These basic input for tube manufacture is continuous strip of Hot rolled (H.R) low carbon steel of specific width. The strip is subjected to continuous gradual forming to a circular shape in the forming section of the mill. The edges converge to give an open seam and a high frequency induction coil heats up the strip edges which are simultaneously pressed together to complete the forge-welding of the seam. The tubes thus formed and welded pass through the sizing section where dimensional deviations are corrected before the tubes are cut to required lengths by a fast and accurate "Flying Saw". Galvanized Pipes: These Pipes are manufactured from Hot rolled coils and the process of welding is called Electric Resistant Welding. The manufacturing Process is the same as MS-Black Tubes. After the MS-Black Tubes are manufactured these pipes go through a process of Hot -dip galvanizing where pipes are dipped in Hot-galvanizing Bath tub. These Pipes are manufactured as per IS-1239 specification. |
