Shankara's pride is its wide, effective and strong Distribution Network across Southern and Western India. Recognized as India's largest and best network for Steel Tubes, we have over 600 dealers/retailers, besides 10000 satisfied customers. Shankara has its own fleet of trucks for transport at some key locations which helps in providing the customer efficient and speedy delivery and ensures lower costs.

The Shankara Group aims to be a total logistics provider for the steel tube industry and is in complete sync with the globalization that the industry is likely to face in the near future.

Man Power
Shankara has a total strength of over 300 people. Our head office in Bangalore has 3 Marketing managers, 1 Product Development Manager, besides the Top Management group. At the central warehouse we have a Logistics manager and 4 Officers besides our own labour to help in the efficient loading and unloading of material. Each of our 16 branches has a Director or Senior Branch Manager to handle all branch activities.

History
The late Mr. S. Srinivas, who worked in numerous Steel tube companies in the fifties and sixties, founded the Shankara Group. He had the distinction of being on the first ISI panel that drew up specifications for Steel Tube Industry in India. He also represented a one-man fact finding committee of EEPC in the sixties to Canada & the USA.

Shankara is currently headed by Mr. Sukumar Srinivas. He did his graduation at Loyola College, Madras and went on to get an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. His experience in the Steel Tube industry as a manufacturer in the eighties and as a distributor for over 17 years, has contributed richly to Shankara's number one position in the Precision Steel Tube market in India. He was a member of the raw material panel of CII, (then CEI) for the Bangalore Region in the late eighties and the President of the Karnataka Pipe Dealers Association from 2000 to 2003.

Space
We have warehouses measuring about 2,50,000 Sq. Ft. at different locations across all our Branches.

Transport
We own 20 LCV's to transport our goods to customers. This helps in providing the customer efficient and speedy delivery and ensures lower cost.

Value Added Services
We have our own cutting and tube drawing facilities to provide custom made products. An in-house laboratory has been set up to check quality of products.

The Shankara group was awarded the ISO 9001 certification in 2002 from M/s. NQA Limited, U.K. The Quality Systems at Shankara are managed by a team of professionals who are provided with proper inputs to adhere to ISO requirements.
